This is Me.

This is me.  I am 24 years old, married and have three rescue pets.  2012 wasn't kind to me.  I lost my great Aunt Ellen last year.  My husband and I also lost our beloved cat, Nyx, which ended in $1000 worth of vet bills and a broken heart.  On top of that, we nearly lost our dog, Artemis, which ended in $500 worth of vet bills. Between mine and my husband's cars, we spent over $3000 just to stay mobile.  Part of that involved a teenager spinning out in our apartment parking lot and ending in my husband's car.  My husband lost his job and we lost our apartment, putting us out on our rears.  My mother had a full knee replacement surgery on her right knee, requiring me to take a month off of work.  Our heater went out for two weeks over Christmas and had to be replaced.  I ended friendships with four different people and suffered from depression for three months.  I was sick five times last year, twice with the flu and once with stomach flu.  My husband was sick three times.

This is how I'm changing my life.  I found this planner at our local store slightly before Christmas and it called to me (of course, it being my favorite color, pink, may have something to do with that).  It represented everything that 2013 is: a blank slate full of new days and new opportunities.

This is a new beginning for me.  The past few weeks, I've created a list of goals with small, achievable monthly steps that should transform my life.  I'm taking 2012, which was a terrible year, and turning it around in 2013.  Join me in my journey to improve my life over the next 365 days!

Stay tuned.  Coming soon this week: How I determined my goals and what they are!

What are your 2013 resolutions?
