Some notes: I'm honestly not exactly sure how our budgeting is going since I haven't been maintaining it the way I'd like to this month, but we really haven't spent outside of vet bills.  I decided to just look at what money we have saved in the bank and compare it with where we're supposed to be at.  Which... actually makes us ahead of schedule.  Guess I managed to actually save up some money last year.

  1. Would you consider writing a post about freelance taxes? I know I'll be needing to start doing quarterly taxes this year but I'm generally clueless and I know you've been in the business for a while and probably have a good idea of what you're doing. Any info you have would be valuable!

    1. I'll definitely consider a post for that. You won't need to worry about quarterly taxes until you're earning enough (and few enough deductions) that your tax equals $1000 or higher. I typically have an immense amount of deductions to help combat my end tax. Every repair to my car as a caricature artist, my laptop, even my camera since I'll be using it to photograph examples from last year can be used. My best suggestions: Keep a log book with every deposit and withdraw you make that's business related, then staple all of your receipts to the pages.
