January: Week 1 Check-In

CAREER - 40.8% Complete
Caricature practice sessions. – 30/360 minutes – 8% complete.
Caricature test session. – 20/20 celebrities – 100% complete.
Caricature studies. – 10/30 minutes – 33% complete.
Make target income for the month. – 22% complete.
Up number of monthly illustrations. – Done | Not Done
One personal illustration. – Done | Not Done
Some notes:  It may seem like I'm slightly behind on target income, but I'm right on queue according to my personal weekly calendar.

FINANCIAL - 4.3% Complete
Research one investment or retirement option for freelancers. – 0/1 – 0% complete.
Make monthly additional payment for Aaron’s student loans. – 0% complete.
Make monthly savings deposit. – 0% complete.
Save for a new dining table. – 0/$350 – 0% complete.
Save for a new camping tent. – 0/$350 – 0% complete.
Maintain budget. – 8/31 Days – 26% complete.
Some notes:  I feel like I can't update any of these until the end of the month.  Or at least on a bi-weekly basis due to paychecks.  Oy vey!

HEALTH - 11% Complete
Lose 5 pounds by eating salad, drinking water and not eating out. – .8/5 pounds – 16% complete.
Attempt dancing whenever stressed out for one month. – 8/31 Days – 26% complete.
Some notes:  It also may seem like I'm behind on weight loss, but considering I started out a couple pounds heavier than I anticipated (at 173.6 on the 31st), being less than my weekly target of 169.5 before my Thursday weigh in is amazing.  On the note of my stress relief for the month, the dancing idea was a fun one, but I just can't bring myself to enjoy it.  The few times I've attempted it, it's actually made me a little angrier and more apt to act out.  This may not be an option, but I'm going to try to stick with it.

HOME - 200% Complete
Simplify 1/3rd of the Kitchen Cabinets. – 200% complete.
Some notes:  We actually got most of the kitchen complete in one day.  All we have left is on top of the fridge.  Aaron even cleaned out the pantry!

KNOWLEDGE - 7% Complete
Read one book. –20/287 Pages – 7% complete.
Daily mental exercises. – Done | Not Done
Some notes:  Chose my book for this month: Creating Circles and Ceremonies.  Haven't gotten as far into it as I'd hoped because Aaron caught my cold.  Also, only one goal as I'm not sure where we're at on obtaining Rosetta Stone through my husband's job.

PERSONAL - 21.5% Complete
Research each garden plant and create a chart. – 3/14 Plants – 21% complete.
Complete 9 pages of THIS IS NOT A BOOK. – 2/9 Pages – 22% complete.

RELATIONSHIP - 50% Complete
One date night. – Done | Not Done – 50% complete.
One girls’ night. – Done | Not Done – 0% complete.
Some notes:  Date night planned and date set!  I've decided that a monthly girls' night may not be an option after recent events.  Time to rethink this goal...

SPIRITUAL - 0% Complete
Meditate twice this month. – 0/2 Times – 0% complete.
Attend one Coffee Coven. – Done | Not Done – 0% complete.
Volunteer for both T.A.R.A. and ESFOA. – Done | Not Done
Some notes:  I ended up not being able to volunteer for TARA this week because my car wouldn't start due to the extreme cold. ESFOA also still needed.  I didn't volunteer this past Saturday out of weather concerns, so hopefully the 18th is a little clearer.

  1. Put together folder of 200 faces for caricature practice.
  2. Create caricature test folder with celebrities.
  3. Select personal illustration theme. "I am the Villain"
  4. Create a summary of research into one investment or retirement option.
  5. Put together Weight Loss Wardrobe Money Jar.
  6. Be 165 by the end of the month.
  7. Get thyroid blood work done at primary by January 27th.
  8. Begin a Stress Journal to track stress causes and solutions. Stress journal chosen!
  9. Choose book. Creating Circles and Ceremonies.  Roughly 72 pages a week.
  10. Create a chart for each of the following plants: Basil, bay, mint, sage; cucumber, carrots, green onion, leaf lettuce, tomato, spinach, (potatoes?); blueberries, lemon tree; aloe, garlic.
  11. Determine number of Wreck This Journal THIS IS NOT A BOOK pages that need completion each month - Which is 9.
  12. Plan date night.
  13. Plan girls' night. Not sure this is a viable goal anymore.  Rethinking my second relationship goal.
  14. Create a girls' night suggestion table. See above.

  1. I'm just curious what you think about This is Not a Book/Wreck This Journal stuff. I honestly had no idea what it was until I watched a youtube video this morning. Is it fun? Worth it?

  2. Could a second relationship goal maybe be to check emails/messengers once a week to keep in touchw ith people contacting you? :)
